Ah

Ok, I made the bed and put a load of laundry in the washer.

The next thing I'm making is a gorgonzola and pear salad with toasted walnuts and a Meyer lemon and walnut oil dressing.

chaos rules!

Today I've made an enormous mess in my office/studio trying to locate some tiny plastic people.  I can't remember where I put them and they're very small.   I need more shelving in that room so that I can reorganize my supplies.  It's just chaos.  I took some photos so you can see what I'm talking about.   The top left photo is my writing desk,  the gym baskets on the right are full of art supplies I've attempted to organize,  the middle photo is my work area which is covered with crap and the project I'm sort of working on now, and the last picture is Squeak and Sophie lying on the UNMADE bed.  Ok, I'll remedy that right now.

more damn circles

I'm not thrilled with either one of these.  I saw some flowers in Central Market today that were rusty browns and purples and ochres and I loved the colors and I should have taken a picture of them, but I was anxious to get my marketing finished.  Anyway, I did a burnt umber background, that reads as a dark greyish purple, with red violets and magentas.  Meh.  The other one with the green-blue background--boring.  Well I guess I'm getting a little bored with circles, so I'll work on something different next year!

hot cocoa!

Today I awoke with a big sinus headache. Art-wise, all I managed to do was put the base color down for my next circle painting. I did make yummy portobello mushroom sandwiches with purple onion, avocado, organic sharp cheddar, and arugula for lunch. Now I'm settling down to watch a movie and I made a big mug of hot cocoa. Because it's cold. And I wanted it.

Two paintings: the larger one with the blue background I finished yesterday, but I'm posting it because I suspect I'm going to be painting circles for a few days and thought I may as well include the first one I did. I'm just playing with color and trying to learn brush control. I'm not a painter, so this is an experiment.

365 days of making stuff!

This is a challenge I'm issuing myself. I figured if I blogged about it, then I would feel more committed. So the challenge is to make something every day. It could be a collage, drawing, or painting. It could be a dish, a garden bed, new curtains, taking pictures, painting a room, or on a bad day simply making my bed! Hopefully I'll have more good days than bad. Today I'm going to make a painting. I'll post a picture at the end of each day. We'll see how it goes, ok?
